The Southwest Regional Public Health Training Center was established in Fall 2010 to enhance the competency of the public health workforce in California, Utah, and Nevada.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the California sessions of our next Emerging Leader Workshop Series topic -- "Effective Strategic Planning" -- which are scheduled for May 23 in Los Angeles and May 29 in Sacramento. Registration and further details are available at our Emerging Leader Workshop Series: Workshop 4 -- Effective Strategic Planning page. Dates and registration for the Utah session are expected soon.
Description:
In this workshop, participants will be taught key concepts of strategic planning for public and non-profit organizations, with a particular focus on how to create a business model that both maximizes the desired impact of the organization and is financially sustainable. The workshop will include active learning through case studies, to allow participants to test out their new knowledge and skills. (NOTE that a Strategic Plan is a prerequisite for health departments in their accreditation process. More on this at: http://naccho.org/topics/infrastructure/accreditation/strategic-plan.cfm)
