The Southwest Regional Public Health Training Center (SRPHTC) was established in Fall 2010 to enhance the competency of the public health workforce in California, Utah, and Nevada. It is a collaborative effort between the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Public Health and the University of Utah’s Division of Public Health.
SRPHTC is part of the National Public Health Training Centers Network funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). From 2000-10, UCLA was one of the five universities that comprised the Pacific Public Health Training Center (which is now a consortium).
