A goal of the Southwest Regional Public Health Training Center is to provide opportunities for faculty and students to participate in collaborative projects to enhance public health services to medically underserved communities. One way this is accomplished is through field placements for students in public or nonprofit health agencies and organizations in medically underserved communities. Programs involving MPH students build upon the goals of the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH)’s Competency and Learning Outcomes Development Projects.
Two-to-three collaborative projects will be conducted per year, and will provide opportunities for current students and faculty to collaborate with local, state, and regional public health agencies to enhance the quality of public health services being provided to MUAs, and MUPs.
