The Southwest Regional Public Health Training Center was established in Fall 2010 to enhance the competency of the public health workforce in California, Utah, and Nevada.

SRPHTC recognizes that strong management skills strengthen leaders in their day-to-day practice and in working with their teams. Our Emerging Leader Workshop Series (ELWS) focuses on building these skills to prepare today's public health professionals for leadership roles in their future careers.
ELWS workshops deliver concrete outcomes, providing public health professionals with tools they can immediately apply in their workplace. These sessions teach public health professionals to understand their role in a larger framework. Participants are able to immediately integrate the skills they learn as they further their professional careers.
Workshops are half- or full-day sessions. Each is conducted in four locations across California and Utah. They are led by distinguished faculty from the UCLA School of Public Health, the University of Utah School of Medicine, and the public health practice community.
